I ordered the Saltwater Sytem back in 2008 as I was impressed with the engineering of that system and didn't want to bother with chemicals. The first one I received for $300 did not work and I was promptly sent a new one. This year my system stopped working again and the customer service team was not very helpful. My warranty was out of date by 2 weeks when I initially called but that was based on the purchase of the 1st unit. My "fix" that was recommended did not work so I tried to combine the two units into one usable one. Low and behold the engineering accomplishment ended with the concept. This unit is not servicable with fine-threaded screws into plastic that do not come out. You cannot buy individual parts either and this unit should last longer than 2 years with it being priced at $300. I know they manufacture it and assemble it for much less since it can be replaced "free" for 2 years. It's sad that they don't support this unit better. Through holes with nylock nuts on one side of the bolts would hold it together just as well, but also make it servicable! Intex embarasses the engineer that designed this system by not assembling it better for the consumers! Shame on you! -- Good concept, not consumer friendly
We only installed this system a week ago, but I already enjoy having it.
We installed this and a 1,000 GPH pump/filter at the same time onto our 12'x30" Intex pool. I added 40 lbs of salt and stabilizer. The chlorinator has been running great.
With such a small pool, I really have to watch the water level. If it evaporates even just an inch or two, then the chlorinator gives a High Salt reading and I have to add more water to the pool. -- So Far So Good
This was a great price, and was so easy to set up. There is so little maintenance to owning a saltwater pool and this chlorine generator makes it easy. The water feels great on the skin and is crystal clear all the time. -- Love the saltwater pool with this chlorine generator
I was so glad to get this product! It has made a world of difference. I have been buying chemicals and trying to get enough chroline in my pool and it kept getting away from me, then I went on vacation which I had ordered the salt water pump and when I got back the pump was in and my pool was GREEN! So I had to drain and refill and I hooked up the pump and that has been a month ago and the water is still crystal clear!!!! Why didn't I buy this sooner???? Best money I have ever spent. I have also told my friends that have pools like mine to purchase a salt water pump they won't be sorry, no more buying the expensive chemicals! Great product! -- Best money ever spent!
So far we've had this product for about a month! WE absolutely love it and the results are amazing. We have a 12x39 intex pool. We had to upgrade our filter to a 1000 gallon in order for the saltwater system to work. We haven't had to add any extra chemicals and our pool just sparkles.
